ABSTRACT

Covid19 has infected many individuals around the world, this virus is spreading rapidly. In the context of controlling and handling the spread of COVID-19, appropriate strategies and policies are needed, mathematics will play a very important role in this problem, especially to provide information about this with an understanding of the dynamics of the transmission of this covid virus. To suppress the spread of the Covid-19 virus which is currently hitting, several countries have implemented large-scale social restrictions. To identify the best approach to reduce of this Covid-19 disease spreading at minimal cost, we developed a mathematical model of the covid 19 virus by implementing large-scale social restrictions and applying optimal control theory. We provide two types of control: the first is in the form of an education campaign about covid-19 and an awareness program, and the second is in the form of a quarantine program. Compared with no optimal control, giving optimal control can provide a more significant reduction in the number of populations S, Sr, O, P, I and increase the number of individual populations that recover more significantly.

ABSTRACT

Most research on mall visit intention emphasized the store atmosphere and shopping values. In the current situation of the COVID-19 pandemic, consumers may postpone visiting shopping malls due to health risks. A limited number of studies consider risk perception as the antecedent of shopping mall visit intention. Furthermore, even though the role of non-pharmaceutical intervention is relevant to the context of the COVID-19 pandemic, only a few studies are looking at this variable as the antecedent of behavioural intention. This paper aims to understand customer intention to shop in malls despite the COVID-19 social restrictions. This research extends the theory of reasoned action by attaching two dimensions of perceived risk, namely cognitive and affective perceived risks, and non-pharmaceutical intervention. Samples of 180 respondents in Greater Jakarta, Indonesia, were selected using snowball sampling. Their responses were analyzed using partial least square structural equation modeling. The findings showed that attitude was the most potent influencing variable to mall visit intention. Moreover, this study found that cognitive perceived risk influences attitude, subjective norms, and non-pharmaceutical intervention, while affective perceived risk only influences non-pharmaceutical intervention.

ABSTRACT

This study showed the nexus between state and Nahdlatul Ulama (NU), being the mainstream Islamic group addressing political ideology beyond Pancasila. The transnational influence views religion as an ideology, not faith, resulting in the different nation's elites response. Furthermore, the government failed to formalise the relationship by endorsing NU to take concrete measures in the area. This study demonstrated how Indonesian religious organisations could maintain stability. The post-Suharto era evinced the special relationship between the state and the largest Muslim organisation, helping the government to defuse militant doctrines. Furthermore, this study defied the secularisation theories to set aside the religion's role in adapting national democracy or social development. The findings indicated that the compromising politicking religion could strengthen the national identity and ideology shield of external infiltration doctrine. Contribution: This article examines the problem of contemporary nationalism post-Suharto and the variety of potential disintegration. Indeed, the appearance of nationalist-based religious groups such as NU strengthens the nation's integrity by building awareness of binding religion and nationalism.

ABSTRACT

DKI Jakarta has the highest number of Covid-19 increasing cases in Indonesia, especially the Penjaringan Subdistrict, North Jakarta has a high potential for Covid-19 because of its strategic location and close to Soekarno-Hatta Airport. The distribution of health facilities in the Penjaringan Subdistrict is an essential thing to suppress the growth of Covid-19 cases. This study aims to analyze the resilience of health facilities based on the accessibility and suitability of the number of people served in each facility. This research used secondary data and was guided by Indonesian National Standard (abbreviated SNI) Number 03-1733-2004 about Tata Cara Perencanaan Lingkungan Perumahan di Perkotaan also known as Procedures for Planning a Residential Environment in Urban Area. This study uses the buffering method with ArcMap and assessing the facilities’ availability. The results showed that all villages in Penjaringan Subdistrict are served by available health facilities based on the distance. Meanwhile, six types of health facilities are incompatible with the standard and one type of health facility is compatible with the standard.

ABSTRACT

In early March, Indonesia had reported the first two cases of COVID-19 and this was the beginning for the spread of the COVID-19 outbreak in Indonesia. The need for health services is increasing along with the increasing number of COVID-19 cases in Indonesia. DKI Jakarta is the capital city of Indonesia and is a city with a dense population, causing the transmission of the COVID-19 to be faster than other areas. An assessment of the capacity of health facilities which includes infrastructure and resources is very important to determine the ability of health facilities to manage the rate of spread of COVID-19. This study aims to evaluate the capability of health facilities using the COVID-19 referral hospital readiness index in DKI Jakarta. The data used is the availability of human resources and infrastructure for COVID-19 referral hospitals. Analysis of Geographic Information Systems and Multi-criteria was used to map the readiness index of COVID-19 referral hospitals. The results show that there are no referral hospitals with a high readiness index. There are only 10 referral hospitals with a medium and 92 referral hospitals with a low readiness index. The lack of referral hospitals with a medium readiness index in areas of high vulnerability can have serious consequences in handling COVID-19 cases. Most of the referral hospitals have a low readiness index. However, referral hospitals are capable to reach almost all areas of DKI Jakarta in an emergency condition. It can be concluded that most of the referral hospitals do not have adequate facilities for handling COVID-19 patients.

ABSTRACT

Appropriate strategies on urban climate mitigation should be formulated by considering the physical morphology of the urban landscape. This study aimed to investigate, analyze, and promote possible strategies to mitigate Jakarta’s urban heat island (UHI) phenomena. Jakarta’s local climate zone (LCZ) was classified into 17 classes using Landsat 8 data and the random forest method. Land surface temperature (LST) characteristic in each LCZ class was analyzed from 2018, 2019 and 2020. The result revealed that most of the local climate zone in Jakarta is dominated by LCZ 6 (open low-rise) and LCZ 3 (compact low-rise), which is the typical residential area in Jakarta. However, the mean LST in 2018, 2019 and 2020 showed that LCZ 3 (compact low-rise) and LCZ 7 (lightweight low-rise) are the areas that were most likely causing high surface temperature with the highest UHI intensity. During the COVID-19 pandemic in 2020, LST in Jakarta decreased drastically in some parts of the area, especially in public facility such as airport. However, the LST value in low-rise areas (LCZ 3 and LCZ 7) remains higher than the other LCZ classes. Materials of the building and land cover play a significant role in raising the land surface temperature. Therefore, mitigation strategies for urban heat islands in Jakarta should be focused on such particular areas mentioned.

ABSTRACT

The growth of Indonesia’s automotive sector has increased the number of end-of-life vehicles (ELVs), making ELV waste management a major issue. Most countries, such as Japan, China, and Europe, manage ELV waste well, but developing countries still do not. In developing countries, little is known about ELV social admissions. This study analyzes ELV management social acceptance in developing countries. Three hundred nine respondents from Jakarta, Bogor, Depok, Tangerang, and Bekasi (the district in Indonesia) were surveyed in a cross-sectional. A set of questions was designed to determine social acceptance (attitude, knowledge, social influence, institutional trust, health issues, and acceptance). After passing validity and reliability tests, the hypothesized research model was estimated using structural equitation. According to this study, social influence, attitude, knowledge, institutional trust, and health issues influenced public acceptance. The health issues variable was also a good moderator (Adj. R2 = 0.173, p < 0.001, average path coefficient = 0.299). The analysis of social acceptance models related to ELV management found that social influence, attitude, knowledge, and institutional trust play a role in one’s desire to accept a new rule, and health issues can strengthen a person in the admission process.

ABSTRACT

Excessive groundwater extraction is believed to be one of the main factors for land subsidence which may be caused by tidal flooding due to the position of the surface which is lower than sea level. Covid-19 pandemic that has occurred in Indonesia since March 2020 has caused changes in water consumption patterns which derives from piped water and groundwater. There are many offices and industries that implement work from home (WFH) makes many buildings have a declining occupancy rate. With the decrease in the occupancy rate of the WFH policy, there will be a possibility that groundwater consumption from high-rise buildings that draw groundwater from deep aquifers can be reduced. This research is in the form of modelling and simulation that is used to build a level of understanding on a whole system as well as the interrelationships and interactions between its constituent variables. The purpose of this research was to determine the effect of groundwater consumption during Covid-19 pandemic on land subsidence in Jakarta using the dynamic system simulation method. The results showed that the work from home policy reduces groundwater consumption by 64.7%. In addition, the reduction in groundwater consumption during the Covid-19 pandemic caused land subsidence in Jakarta slows down and the rate of land subsidence in Jakarta decreased from 3.7 cm/year to 1 cm/year.

ABSTRACT

We proposed a model platform that can unite all health centers in Jakarta to share data with the patient as it will benefit the patient, the health workers, and the government. When you are sick and come to the practicing doctor, you will get the same problems: queues. Besides that, you are faced with the same repeated questions such as the history of illness and drug allergy if you are a new patient, especially for the problem of queues, especially during the Covid19 pandemic, where people gathering is prohibited everyone must keep their distance. In this case, public health centers or healthcare centers, clinics, and sometimes recognized as community health centers or PUSKESMAS (Pusat Kesehatan Masyarakat) must unite to share patient care health information queues and patient handling. Besides this, it can protect the patients themselves in an emergency, and competition between health workers can run fairly and be more professional. The business process was designed using a Use case diagram, while the database model was designed using a class diagram.

ABSTRACT

Indonesia is country with abundant high-risk areas for various disasters that can affect both the structural and non-structural safety of various vital establishments, particularly hospitals. This present study aims to examine the level of the hospital safety index in nine hospitals in four provinces based on the guidelines from the WHO/PAHO (World Health Organization/Pan American Health Organization). The Hospital Safety Index (HSI) guidelines consist of four parameters that include the types of hazards, structural safety, non-structural safety, disasters and emergency managements. This study was a cross-sectional study on data obtained through interviews, focus group discussions (FGDs), observations, and document reviews to assess the parameters of the HSI. Data were calculated for the HSI score, and descriptive statistics and multiple correspondence analysis (MCA) were carried out. The SPSS software version 25.0 was used for the statistical analysis. Results show that the overall safety index was 0.673 (Level A), meaning that it is likely the hospital will maintain functionality in emergencies and disasters. By province, the level A index was identified in DKI Jakarta (0.76), Yogyakarta (0.709), and West Java (0.673), showing that hospitals in these provinces will maintain functionality in emergency and disaster situations;however, in North Sumatera, the index was categorized in B category (0.507), demonstrating that the hospital’s ability to function during and after emergencies and disasters is potentially at risk. The multiple correspondence analysis shows that the hospitals in the provinces of Yogyakarta and West Java tend to achieve similar categories in almost all assessment modules;therefore, control measures of preparedness should be considered, such as improvements in equipment and facilities;hospital emergency and disaster response and recovery planning;communication and information management;training;and relevant stakeholders awareness.

ABSTRACT

The Jakarta City Tour Bus is one of the strategies of the DKI Jakarta Provincial Government to support the tourism sector. However, in recent years there has been little interest in running the Jakarta City Tour Bus. The lack of some service attributes of the Jakarta City Tour Bus performance and the new phase of adjustment during the Covid-19 pandemic are factors causing the decrease in the number of Jakarta City Tour Bus users since 2019. This study aims to formulate strategies to improve the use of the Jakarta City Tour Bus in the post-pandemic Covid-19 based on user preferences. The analytical method used in this research study is Importance-Performance Analysis (IPA) to formulate strategies for improving the use of Jakarta City Tour Bus in post-pandemic Covid-19. The results showed that there were 11 service attributes of the Jakarta City Tour Bus which had a low level of performance but had a high level of importance. Then, there are strategies to improve the use of Jakarta City Tour Bus which is divided into 2 (two) categories, including the strategies for improving the use of Jakarta City Tour Bus in normal and new normal situations.
